Follow Me Therapy Pty Ltd (“we”, “us”) provides paediatric occupational therapy. We take the privacy of children and families seriously. This policy explains how we handle personal and health information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

• Contact details for parents, carers and other people you ask us to work with
• Your child’s name, date of birth and other identifying details
• Health and developmental information, including reports from other professionals
• Funding details, such as NDIS plan or health insurance information
• Session notes, goals, assessment results and reports we prepare

How we collect it

Mostly from you directly: through our referral and enquiry forms, by phone or email, and during sessions, including telehealth sessions. With your consent, we may also collect information from others involved in your child’s care, such as teachers, doctors or other therapists.

Why we use it

• To assess your child and provide therapy
• To write reports and plans, and to coordinate with your child’s team
• To process funding claims and payments
• To contact you about appointments and your child’s care
• To meet our legal and professional obligations

Who we share it with

We only share information when it is needed and lawful:

• With people involved in your child’s care, such as schools, doctors or other therapists, with your consent
• With funding bodies and plan managers, such as the NDIA or your plan manager, to process claims
• With service providers who help us run the practice, such as our practice management software (Splose) and Microsoft Teams for telehealth
• When the law requires or allows it

Where a service provider stores information outside Australia, we take reasonable steps to make sure it is protected to the standard required in Australia.

How we keep it safe

We store records in secure, access-controlled systems, and only people who need the information to support your child can see it. We keep health records for as long as the law requires, then destroy or de-identify them securely.

This website

This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our referral and enquiry forms are provided by Splose, and the information you enter goes directly into our practice records.

Accessing or correcting your information

You can ask to see the information we hold about you or your child, or ask us to correct it. Contact us and we will respond within a reasonable time.
